Izuku Midoriya Rising moves, Quirk actions, and Plus Ultra
Publisher pages do not print an English command list for Izuku Midoriya Rising's named attacks. What they do print is the shared battle system: Target Combo, Counter Attack, Guard, Unblockable Attack, Quirk skills, Plus Ultra, and the Rising state. Version 3.00 balance notes add two facts about this slot alone. Plus Ultra ending lag was increased, and the aerial version of Quirk Skill 4 had its chase adjusted to match Izuku Midoriya Full Cowling 100%. This page does not invent frame data or smash names.
Four core actions
Bandai Namco Europe's battle-mechanics article and Bandai Namco America's battle-system news describe the same base. Teams are three against three. You eliminate every opponent to win. You may switch fighters at any time, including during an attack combo, to keep a string going. Switching while you guard is described as a way to turn defense into offense.
The four core actions are Target Combo, Counter Attack, Guard, and Unblockable Attack. If the opponent has the advantage, Evade Action and Counter Crash are the published escape tools. A January 2026 preview that walked through the tutorial on an Xbox pad adds a rock-paper-scissors reading of the three attacks, which matches the "read your opponent" language in the official articles:
- Target Combo, mapped in that preview to repeated presses of X, is the chasing string.
- Unblockable Attack, mapped there to RB+X, is described as piercing guards and armored counter states.
- Counter Attack, mapped there to RB+Y, is described as powering through an incoming attack.
- In that preview's triangle, Target Combo beats Unblockable, Counter Attack beats Target Combo, and Unblockable beats Counter Attack.
Those buttons are the preview's Xbox layout, not a manual scanned from the disc. PlayStation, Switch 2, and keyboard glyphs were not copied into this guide because no official control card was in the pages checked. A simple control scheme also exists. The preview calls it the simple scheme, with more automatic inputs. Xbox Wire calls the similar option Normal Mode: chaining the X button performs combos, character changes, and Plus Ultra for you. Europe's article says Normal Controls let a newer player produce combos with simplified inputs.
Quirk skills and Plus Ultra
Each fighter has unique Quirk skills. The tutorial preview counts four per character, on Y, B, Left Stick plus Y, and Left Stick plus B, again on the Xbox pad it used. Official copy does not print Rising Deku's four names. Plus Ultra is the gauge super. Xbox Wire says that with two or more Plus Ultra gauges stocked, Plus Ultra Combo links ultimate moves with ally characters. The European article describes that chain as a three-character attack when you coordinate the team. The preview uses the word "sidekicks" for the allies who must be off cooldown before that chain will play. Official pages talk about the same idea as character switching and a team finisher.
Version 3.00, published 7 May 2026 in Bandai Namco's Asia character-balance notes and in the matching European media-center PDF, is the patch text that names this roster slot directly:
- Izuku Midoriya Rising, Plus Ultra: ending lag increased.
- Izuku Midoriya Rising, Quirk Skill 4: the aerial version's chase performance was adjusted so it matches Izuku Midoriya Full Cowling 100%'s skill.
Read that narrowly. The slot has a Plus Ultra, and it has a Quirk Skill 4 with an aerial version. After 7 May 2026, that Plus Ultra recovers more slowly than it did before the patch. The note does not say whether the chase change made the move stronger or weaker. It does not rename the skill, and it does not give startup frames, damage, or a gauge cost. The same notes balance Izuku Midoriya, Izuku Midoriya One For All, and Izuku Midoriya Full Cowl 100% in their own sections, which is evidence that the slots are tuned separately.
Rising Action and Rising Ability
Rising, the state, is documented more clearly than this character's personal action names. The gauge fills when attacks land and when you take damage. At max, you spend it to enter the state. Bandai Namco Europe says attack power, movement speed, and recovery speed are enhanced. Steam's store text says attack power, movement speed, and Quirk actions are enhanced. Xbox Wire says Quirk skills and stats are greatly enhanced, and that Rising Action and Rising Ability become available. Those extra actions differ by character.
The Japanese Rising page adds the useful limits. The state is time-limited. During it, Quirk-skill performance is strengthened, and some characters change how they look and move. Rising Action is usable on top of ordinary Quirk skills. For some fighters, that action is unique enough to change their whole plan. Some fighters also have a Rising Ability, a special property that exists only while Rising is up. When your partners are gone and you are the last one standing, Ultimate Rising turns on automatically. It is stronger, and it lasts longer, than a Rising you activated yourself.
Do not borrow another Deku's Rising labels. Posts that name Fourth's Danger Sense and Sprint Rush attach them to Izuku Midoriya (One For All). The Japanese guide wiki has a page for Izuku Midoriya Rising that lists the voice actor and the Quirk One For All. When it was checked, the move table on that page was empty. Until a command list is actually published, this guide stops at Quirk Skill 4 and Plus Ultra.
Names this page will not assign to Rising Deku
Older One's Justice command lists use smash names such as Delaware Smash. The Overlay Full Style announcement, a different fighter, is the publisher text that says "Blackchain" and "Delaware Smash" out loud. That sentence is about the Season Pass character, not about the story-unlock Rising slot. Copying either list onto Izuku Midoriya Rising would be a guess. The roster page keeps those forms apart, and the tips page stays with habits the system actually describes.
